Create an account and sign in securely

Use sign-up and sign-in pages to create an account, return to an existing account, or continue from an invite. The app supports email verification-code sign-in, password sign-in, and provider sign-in when those options are enabled.

Terms you may see:

  • Email Address is the account identifier used for email-based sign-in.
  • Verification code is a short one-time code sent to your email.
  • Password sign-in appears when you choose Sign in with password.
  • Provider sign-in appears only when the provider is enabled and supported in the current environment.
  • Space start is where you create a Space, join a Space, or open an existing Space after sign-in.

Before you start

  • Use the email address that should own the account or access the Space.
  • Keep your inbox open if you use verification-code sign-in.
  • Use the same provider account that was invited or used before.
  • Allow browser redirects, cookies, and local storage for the app domain.
  • If you are using an invite, use the invited email unless the Space owner/admin changes the invite.

How account access works

  1. Open Sign up when creating an account or Sign in when returning.
  2. Enter Email Address.
  3. Choose the available method: Sign up with OTP, Sign in with OTP, Sign in with password, or a provider button.
  4. Complete the code, password, or provider flow.
  5. The app loads your profile.
  6. You continue to Space start or the signed-in page you were trying to open.

Expected outcome: You enter the app with the correct account and can create, join, or open your Space.

Create a new account with email

  1. Open Sign up.
  2. Enter Email Address.
  3. Select Sign up with OTP.
  4. Open your email inbox.
  5. Enter the six-digit verification code in the code fields.
  6. Select Sign in to complete account creation.
  7. Continue to Space start.

Expected outcome: The account is created and ready to create a Space, join a Space, or accept an invite.

Sign in with an email verification code

  1. Open Sign in.
  2. Enter Email Address.
  3. Select Sign in with OTP.
  4. Open the verification email.
  5. Enter the six-digit code.
  6. Select Sign in.
  7. Confirm the signed-in email from My Account.

Expected outcome: You enter the app without a password.

Sign in with a password

  1. Open Sign in.
  2. Enter Email Address.
  3. Select Sign in with password.
  4. Enter the password in Enter Password.
  5. Use the visibility icon only if you need to confirm what you typed.
  6. Select Sign in.

Expected outcome: You enter the app with your email and password credentials.

Sign in with a provider

  1. Open Sign in.
  2. Select the provider shown in the form.
  3. Choose the provider account that should access the Space.
  4. Approve the provider sign-in request.
  5. Return to the app when the provider finishes.
  6. Confirm the signed-in email from My Account.

Expected outcome: The app signs you in with the provider-approved identity.

Use sign-in from a browser extension or embedded entry

  1. Select Sign in or Sign up from the embedded entry.
  2. Complete authentication in the app browser page that opens.
  3. Return to the extension or embedded surface after the app session is active.

Expected outcome: Authentication completes in the full app, then connected surfaces can use the signed-in session.

Troubleshooting

Email is rejected

  • Symptom: The app asks for a valid email address.
  • Cause: The email format is incomplete or contains extra spaces.
  • Resolution:
    1. Re-enter the email address.
    2. Remove leading or trailing spaces.
    3. Confirm the domain is correct.

Verification code does not arrive

  • Symptom: No verification email appears after selecting Sign in with OTP or Sign up with OTP.
  • Cause: Delivery may be delayed, blocked, or sent to a different address.
  • Resolution:
    1. Confirm the email address on the form.
    2. Check spam, junk, and promotions folders.
    3. Wait briefly before requesting another code.
    4. Ask your email administrator to allow product emails if work email filters are strict.

Verification code is invalid or expired

  • Symptom: The app rejects the code or says it expired.
  • Cause: The code may be old, incomplete, entered out of order, or copied with extra characters.
  • Resolution:
    1. Enter all six digits in order.
    2. Copy only the code.
    3. Request a new code and use the newest email.

Password sign-in fails

  • Symptom: The app shows Incorrect username or password.
  • Cause: The email or password may be wrong, or the account may use another sign-in method.
  • Resolution:
    1. Confirm the email address.
    2. Retype the password.
    3. Try Sign in with OTP if available.
    4. Use the provider method originally used for the account if applicable.

The app says the session expired

  • Symptom: You see Session expired. Please sign in.
  • Cause: The saved session is no longer valid.
  • Resolution:
    1. Sign in again.
    2. Avoid clearing cookies or site data while using the app.
    3. If this repeats, try a normal browser window instead of private browsing.

You sign in but cannot see your Space

  • Symptom: Sign-in works, but the expected Space is missing.
  • Cause: You may be using a different account than the one invited or added to the Space.
  • Resolution:
    1. Open My Account and confirm the email.
    2. Sign out if the account is wrong.
    3. Sign in again with the invited email or provider account.
    4. Ask the Space owner/admin to confirm the invited email and membership status.

FAQ

Should I choose Sign in or Sign up?

Choose Sign up only when creating a new account. Choose Sign in when you already have an account or were invited to a Space.

Why does the code confirmation button say Sign in after sign-up?

The same confirmation action completes verification and signs you into the new account. After the code is accepted, the app continues into the signed-in experience.

Can I switch between password and verification-code sign-in?

Yes, when both options are available. Use Back to leave password mode or code mode and choose another sign-in method.

Why are some provider buttons missing?

Provider buttons appear only when enabled and supported in the current browser, app, or embedded environment.
