Update profile, password, and personal preferences

Use My Account to update your profile, password, personal display preferences, notification preferences, guide visibility, support entry points, and account lifecycle actions.

Terms you may see:

  • Profile is visible to other users in collaboration areas.
  • Personal preferences affect only your own app experience.
  • Password rules protect your account when password sign-in is used.
  • Account deletion is permanent and should not be used as a normal sign-out action.

Before you start

  • Profile edits, password changes, account deletion, and some support actions require internet.
  • Password changes require a password that meets every visible rule.
  • Calendar and connection settings depend on provider availability and permissions.
  • Billing details and plan changes are covered in billing help articles.

How account access works

  1. Open My Account from the header or avatar.
  2. Review your profile email to confirm you are in the correct account.
  3. Open the section you need.
  4. Update the setting, field, or preference.
  5. Use Done, Update, or the relevant confirmation action to finish.
  6. Refresh if a display preference does not update immediately.

Expected outcome: Your account profile, display preferences, notifications, guide visibility, and support options match how you work.

Password requirements:

Update your full name

  1. Open My Account.
  2. Select the Full Name value in the profile section.
  3. Enter the updated name.
  4. Select Update.
  5. Confirm the name appears in My Account.

Expected outcome: Other users see the updated display name where the app shows user identity.

Change your password

  1. Open My Account.
  2. Select Change Password.
  3. Enter a password that meets every visible rule.
  4. Enter the same value in Confirm New Password.
  5. Select Update.
  6. Wait for the success message.

Expected outcome: Future password sign-in uses the new password.

Change language and time settings

  1. Open My Account.
  2. In User Settings, choose Language, Timezone, Date Format, or Time Format.
  3. Select the preferred value.
  4. Review dates and times on the page you are using.
  5. Refresh once if the old format is still visible.

Expected outcome: App labels and time/date displays use your selected preferences where supported.

  1. Open My Account.
  2. Find Show guide in User Settings.
  3. Turn it off to hide those dots.
  4. Open Help if you still want to start a guide from an article.

Delete your account

  1. Open My Account.
  2. Select Delete Account under More.
  3. Read the warning.
  4. Type Delete Account when the confirmation asks for it.
  5. Select Delete only if you are certain.

Expected outcome: The app starts account deletion. This action removes account data and should be used only when you intend to leave permanently.

Troubleshooting

Profile name does not save

  • Symptom: The old name returns after editing.
  • Cause: The app may be offline, the name may be too short, or the update may not have synced.
  • Resolution:
    1. Confirm the app is online.
    2. Enter more than one character.
    3. Select Update.
    4. Refresh and confirm the value.

Avatar upload fails

  • Symptom: The profile image does not update.
  • Cause: Upload may be blocked by network state, file size, or image handling failure.
  • Resolution:
    1. Confirm you are online.
    2. Try a smaller image.
    3. Reopen the upload dialog and try again.
    4. Report an issue if the upload repeatedly fails.

Password update is blocked

  • Symptom: Update does not save the password.
  • Cause: A password rule is unmet, the confirmation does not match, or the app is offline.
  • Resolution:
    1. Make every requirement pass.
    2. Confirm both password fields match.
    3. Confirm the app is online.
    4. Retry after correcting the fields.

Theme, language, date, or time does not update

  • Symptom: The old display style remains visible.

  • Cause: The preference may still be syncing, or the current page may need a refresh.

  • Resolution:

    1. Reopen My Account and confirm the selected value.
    2. Refresh the page.
    3. Sign out and back in if the preference keeps reverting.
  • Cause: Show guide may be off, the current page may not have a guide, or another guide may already be active.

  • Resolution:

    1. Turn on Show guide.
    2. Refresh the current page.
    3. Open Help and search for the process.
    4. Report an issue if an article says a guide exists but it does not start.

Delete Account is disabled

  • Symptom: You cannot start account deletion.
  • Cause: You may be offline or the account session may not be active.
  • Resolution:
    1. Confirm internet connection.
    2. Confirm you are signed in.
    3. Retry from My Account.
    4. Contact support if deletion stays unavailable.

FAQ

Are these preferences shared with my team?

No. These settings are personal unless the setting opens a Space-level area such as app settings or billing.

Does Show guide remove Help?

Can I change my sign-in provider from My Account?

Provider availability is managed by the app environment. Use the sign-in methods shown on the sign-in page, or ask your admin which provider methods are supported.

Should I delete my account to switch accounts?

No. Use Sign Out to leave the current session. Use Delete Account only when you intend to permanently remove account data.
