Log and review time
Time logging has two paths: start a live timer while working, or add a manual entry after the work happened. Both paths create task-linked time entries that can be reviewed later.
The procedures below cover how to:
- Start or stop an active timer.
- Add manual time for completed work.
- Change the task or subtask connected to an entry.
- Edit duration, start time, stop time, notes, tags, or billable state.
- Review totals by user and date.
- Delete an incorrect entry.

- Add optional notes.
- Turn Billable on if the time should count as billable.

- Choose the task or subtask.
- Set duration or start/stop time.
- Add notes if needed.

Search for the task or subtask

- Change the user if your role allows it.
- Change the task or subtask if the time was linked incorrectly.
- Edit duration or start/stop time.

Review totals
Timesheet entries are grouped by user and date. Review:
- Total tracked time.
- Billable time.
- Non-billable time.
- Estimated time when available.
- Remaining time when tracked time is below estimate.
- Exceeded time when tracked time is above estimate.
Delete an incorrect entry
- Find the entry in Timesheets or the task time entries area.
- Use the delete action.
- Confirm only if the entry should be removed from totals.
Validation And Permissions
- Manual entries need a selected task or subtask.
- Invalid time windows cannot produce useful totals.
- Users can delete their own entries when allowed.
- Users with time tracking settings access can manage entries for others.
- If you cannot edit an entry, the app shows a no-access state.
Troubleshooting
Timer is already running
- Symptom: You see an active timer when trying to start another timer.
- Cause: One live timer is already active for you.
- Resolution:
- Open the active timer.
- Stop it if that work is complete.
- Start the next timer.
Add does not save the entry
- Symptom: The manual entry does not save.
- Cause: The task may be missing, the time window may be invalid, or your role may not allow time logging.
- Resolution:
- Select a task or subtask.
- Confirm start and stop time.
- Confirm the owner.
- Ask a Space admin to check time tracking access.
Totals look wrong
- Symptom: Tracked, billable, non-billable, remaining, or exceeded totals do not match expectations.
- Cause: An entry may be under a different task, user, date, Space, or billable state.
- Resolution:
- Open entries by user and date.
- Check each suspicious duration.
- Confirm billable state.
- Open the connected task and review its entries.
